Sustainability and quality

General info
Sustainability and quality are at the heart of everything we do. We strive to deliver our services in a responsible manner, paying attention to both efficiency and environmental impact.
Our goal is to provide reliable and high-quality transportation and storage solutions, continuously working to improve our processes and reduce our carbon footprint.
Quality
The IFS certificate stands for International Featured Standard and focuses on food safety. In addition to Food, IFS also has other standards. With this certificate we emphasize our commitment to store food products safely at our facility at Industriedijk. Thanks to our up-to-date HACCP policy, we also assure retailers of quality and safety in the food chain.

FCA (Feed Chain Alliance) represents a certified self-monitoring system, managed by Ovocom, designed to ensure food safety within the feed chain. At Group Martens, at the site at Industriedijk, we are proud of our FCA certification for our storage facilities. This certificate is known as a renowned standard within the food industry and ensures food safety.

Group Martens holds a high threshold Seveso permit. By complying with these strict standards and regulations, we can ensure a safe environment while handling dangerous goods.
With this Seveso permit, we are also investing in the well-being of our employees, community and environment. We recognize the great responsibility associated with the storage of dangerous goods and strive for continuous improvement in safety measures.
As a registered company with the FAVV, Group Martens guarantees the highest standards in food safety and quality management in our transport and warehousing services. This registration confirms our commitment to strict hygiene and safety standards.
Sustainability
In our pursuit of a more sustainable future, we focus emphatically on the use of green fuels and are constantly modernizing our fleet. Our entire fleet meets the EURO 6 standard. Active participation in working groups on sustainability keeps us abreast of the latest developments in the transport sector. Soon we will introduce transport options with HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), produced from fully renewable raw materials, which can reduce CO₂ emissions by 85-90%.
Efficiency is the key to sustainability. Therefore, we optimize our transport routes to minimize driving time, reduce fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions. This not only improves our operational efficiency, but also reduces our environmental impact. We strive to reduce empty miles and ensure maximum loading of our vehicles.
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our facilities. With the installation of solar panels on our buildings, we generate green energy. In addition, we promote the use of electric vehicles by providing charging stations for both our employees and visitors.
In line with our sustainability goals, we are actively working to achieve a "paperless office. By digitizing our processes, we not only reduce our paper use, but also increase the efficiency and accessibility of our business operations.
Group Martens is actively committed to the transition to a sustainable future. We are constantly looking for innovative methods to reduce our impact on the environment, without compromising the quality and efficiency of service to our clients.
